Garrod Wins by Knockout
Congratulations goes to our teen program coach, Jeremy "The Southern Dandy" Garrod for his impressive first round Knockout victory in his XCC mixed martial art debut on February 6th 2010 in Waterford, Michigan. Jeremy quickly took his opponent to the ground and began going to work immediately with some heavy knees to the body before establishing a full mount and knocking his opponent out with some lighting fast, heavy-handed punches!
Look for Jeremy to continue his winning streak in some upcoming mixed martial arts competition.
Bilagot Unbeaten Goes 7-0
Congratulations once again to Jon Bilagot who competed as the main event at King of Cage: Battle at the Border USA VS Canada on April 25th 2009 at McMorran Arena in Port Huron, Michigan. Taking a page from what looked like Masakatsu Imanari's playbook, Jon quickly submitted XCC Featherweight Champion Paris Boyd in under 40 seconds of the first round with a rolling heel-hook!
Jon moves his undefeated Mixed Martial Arts record to 7-0. Look for Jon to continue his winning streak in some upcoming payperview action.
Rocca Submits Opponent, Dumas More Gold
Contratulations goes to Joe Rocca, for his quick submission victory at Fight Night in the Hills on January 17th, 2009 in his amateur MMA bout.
And another congratulations goes to Paul Dumas for his repeat gold medal peformance in the no-gi division at the 2009 Salvosa Jiu-Jitsu Open on February 8th 2009.
Spencer Wins Gold at World Championships
Contratulations to Mary Spencer, who found redemption and a piece of history at the 5th AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in Ningbo City, China.
A gold medallist at the 2005 championships and named boxer of the tournament, the 24-year-old Spencer regained the Gold medal that had turned to bronze at the 2006 championships.
